De La Cruz Coach De La Cruz received her Bachelor's degree with a major in Sociology and a minor in Spanish from Santa Clara University on a cross country scholarship. She continued her education at National University where she received a Master's degree in Cross Cultural Education. This is her 10th year at Valhalla. She coaches cross country. Moreno Coach Moreno received her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training/Kinesiology on a softball scholarship from Vanguard University. She continued her education at Azuza Pacific University for a Masters in Physical Education. This is her 17th year of teaching in Grossmont District. In her spares time she enjoys playing pickleball, reading and spending time with family. She graduated with honors from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelors in Environmental Analysis and Design. She continued her education at San Diego State University with a Masters in Education, Curriculum and Instruction. Her background in dance led her to Valhalla in 2007, when she directed the dance program and acted as cheer advisor for a number of years. Whyte Mrs. Whyte was born and raised in the Dance and Musical Theatre world. She has been dancing since she was three years old and performing professionally in musicals since age nine. She graduated in 2011 from Cal Sate Fullerton’s competitive Bachelor of Fine Arts Musical Theatre program where she performed in a number of shows including the leading roles in Bat Boy (Shelly), and Footloose (Rusty). She has performed with Torrance Theatre Company as Roxy in Chicago as well as Saddleback Civic Light Opera’s production of Damn Yankees as Lola. At Cal State Fullerton she performed with The Steve Miller Band and Earth, Wind, and Fire as the opening act at the Anaheim Honda Center. Also, she has performed at New World Stages, off Broadway, in a musical theatre showcase. Not only is she trained in dancing; she is equally trained in singing and acting. Her dance training includes styles such as Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. She is a passionate performer and choreographer and truly loves the world of teaching and being able to inspire and create a fiery passion for other young performers as well. Currently, she is the dance teacher/director at Valhalla High School while in graduate school for her Masters of Education.
